Mandatory voting bill introduced by California lawmaker

If Marc Levine (D) a California Assemblyman has his way, voting will be made mandatory. That's what Bill 2070, the bill he introduced, will do.

Springtime is when the when it's expected to be considered as the secretary of state would determine the penalty for not voting. There has never been such a bill and it would be challenged in court.

Levine states "Democracy is not a spectator sport- it requires the active participation of all of its citizens. California is a national leader on expanding voter rights to its citizens. Those rights come with a responsibility by registered voters to cast their ballot and make sure their voices are heard by their government." In other words, you Blacks don't wanna vote for us anymore, we're gonna force you to.
