The man behind the rise of Sean 'Diddy' Combs and Uptown Records in the early '90s has passed away at 59. DJ D-Nice revealed the sad news on his Instagram account while spinning a live set on his very popular Club Quarantine show. The cause of death is confirmed to be heart failure.
Harrell was instrumental in the careers of Diddy and Mary J. Blidge having worked with Russell Simmons, headed Motown Records as CEO and oversaw megastars like Boyz 2 Men, Jodeci, and Al B. Sure. He also served as chairman of Combs' multi platform music network Revolt as a producer of 'State of The Culture'.
This man is responsible for a lot of successful Black faces in entertainment and the industry will miss his presence. Rest in Power big homie Andre Harrell.
