To be black in America

I'm a thirty one year old black male that lives in America (The land of the scared)

I've been taught since grade school that my history as a black man starts in slavery? We know this isn't fact at all.

So I ask my self why do schools still teach the lies of the old? Until we the people of color stand up tall and understand that the fear people feels toward us isn't because we're thugs or crazed criminals or any other label we may hold by others instead understand the fear they feel comes from years of hidden truth and knowledge (your true history )The fear that we as one will over come the oppressive behaviors held towards us there for becoming truly equal with all others. That's a scary sight for the one who always felt color sets barriers...
