LOS ANGELES, CA- August 6, 2021—Hailed for their original sound built on a foundation of musical tradition, Law & Chaos launches their newest single, Now All I Do Is Play The Blues, on August 6th, 2021. Available on all digital music platforms, the song is a throwback to a bygone era of sophisticated arrangements when crooners belted out blues-themed lyrics accompanied by swanky jazz and soaring strings.
Written by Nick Andrea and produced by Craig T. Fall of Eldora Grande Studios, Now All I Do Play Is The Blues explores one of the most vivid and universal of human feelings: being trapped hopelessly in unrequited love with someone who has moved on. “Most people have suffered lost love to some degree, so this is about a universally shared human experience. That’s why the blues was invented,” said renowned vocalist, singer-songwriter, and trumpet player Nick Andrea of Law & Chaos. Nick not only penned the lyrics, but also contributes his trademark “velvet sandpaper” vocal stylings to the song, along with a jazz trumpet solo that echoes from a bygone era. Nick began playing as a young boy, before taking a 30-year break to pursue a successful law career. He is now back and bringing creativity that is innovative while remaining true to the traditional musical roots.
Law & Chaos had the opportunity to collaborate with fellow master musicians, including globally-recognized piano player, Jeff Paris, a previous collaborator with Keb Mo, Ringo Starr, and Grammy-nominated artist Robert Cray. Jeff displays a lifetime of flawless technique and accompaniment to frequently steal the show.
Master saxophonist Jim Scimonetti draws on his fifty years of playing with legends like The Coasters, Chuck Berry, and The Righteous Brothers. With his extensive repertoire of skills in baritone, tenor, and alto sax, Jim brilliantly breathes life and adds new layers of depth into the song’s signature harmonies.
Veteran blues guitarist T.J. Sullivan, whose career spans eight solo albums, provided his unique fusion of jazz and blues elements to the new single. His guitar solo alternates between open spaces and volcanic-like bursts, providing blues counterbalance to the song’s jazz elements.
The diverse musical elements and talents of the single were skillfully orchestrated and blended under the guidance of producer Craig T. Fall.
Law & Chaos brings a fresh and original sound by inserting more contemporary elements into solid jazz and blues foundations, presenting their stories in a unique and thought-provoking way.
