After serving twenty-one years of his thirty-year sentence, the big homie McKinley 'Mac' Phipps has been granted clemency by John Bel Edwards. Although he can't get those years back, this is a celebration for Hip Hop. Mac, a former No Limit Records artist, was known for his witty flows and was one of the more lyrical MCs at the label.
His 1998 album Shell Shocked reached number 11 on the US Billboard 200. He was and still is one of the most respected lyricists from the south, New Orleans third ward to be exact.
We here at Apex Coture would like to welcome the King home to be with his family!
After the homie gets his affairs in order, we'd definitely love to get some new music from Mac. If you haven't heard him blaze the mic, go check out his music.
