Coture Conversations: Khujo Goodie Of The Legendary Goodie Mob

The word "legend" is just slapped on anybody these days but you must have the accolades and credentials to even be certified as such. When you're celebrating the twenty-fifth anniversary of the release of your first album, an album that was responsible for the rise of and coined the term the "Dirty South" opening the floodgates for what we see now in the music industry, you are indeed "legendary".

Yes, you read it right. Goodie Mob celebrates twenty-five years of Soul Food, their debut album that is regarded as one of the two albums that brought southern Hip Hop to the mainstream. The other would be Outkast's Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik. Records like "Cell Therapy", the first single off the record would boast the iconic hook "Who's that peeking in my window? Pow! Nobody now!" heard around the world in 1995 with lyrics delivered in a way the world has never heard giving you prophetic information that would be the reality of life then and even now.

Alongside T-Mo, CeeLo, and Big Gipp, Khujo Goodie would go on to release Still Standing (1998)World Party (1999)One Monkey Don't Stop No Show (2004 without CeeLo)Age Against The Machine (2013), and their latest Survival Kit (2020).

The big homie also released a slew of solo albums including Echoes Of A Legend in 2020. He then followed it up with the third installment of his Feed The Lions series where he opens up his legendary platform to usher in a new wave of dope MCs lead by his new single Krown Me signaling that he has yet to let up.

You can also power up with some fresh Fie Fie Delish merch, a brand that quotes some of his greatest bars on t-shirts, hoodies, and apparel.

With all of that mentioned, we would have to write a novel to break down the history of this legendary figure. We were blessed with the honor of sitting down and having a conversation with Khujo to go into further details about his long history and made quite the bond while doing so. Check out the conversation below and take in all of his greatness.
