This album was anticipated like a major event. Detroit 2 is here now and you can be prepared for a great experience in Hip Hop. This is a moment to let the music register and not just be fly for the weekend. Most music today is just that, a quick fix to get you by for a few hours then it's no longer relevant so the artist is forced to release a ton of music to keep the short attention spans captive.
As you dive into this body of work you'd see that this is not a snack but a full course meant to be savored and enjoyed for your soul. "Wolves" featuring Post Malone is literally a masterpiece to let it be known this album is to be taken seriously but you should've known that when he released Deep Reverence featuring the late great Nipsey Hussle.
There are so many amazing moments on this album from the stories told by Dave Chapelle, Erykah Badu, and Stevie Wonder but the words that signal truth in experiences baked up by a star-studded cameo cast. The list is almost endless. How do you even fit so many big names on one body of work?
One of the most notable moments is the Friday Night Cypher featuring a slew of artists from Detroit. There were more artists that participated but for the song to be listenable some had to be cut but he did make sure to mention that in an IG Live stream. This track features Tee Grizzley, that baby Kash Doll, Cash Kidd, Payroll Giovanni, 42 Dugg, Boldy James, Drego, Sada Baby, Royce Da 5'9, and the big homie Eminem. You'd run out of breath just naming the credits on this record.
There's no need to write a novel, you need to get this experience now for yourself. A great contribution to Hip Hop!
