We should all take the time to admire this moment in Hip Hop.
An event where the golden era is demonstrated in a vivid illustration and the most accurate depiction you could get at the start of a new decade.
The instrumentation, the stories, and the overall feel are nostalgic but new. This sound is not being created today. It may just be too rich for some souls to receive but you must breathe it in as it is refreshing and an important contribution to Hip Hop.
There are lessons on each track. 'Entrepreneurship' dives into a strategic plan that all artists should be applying to their careers. Big K.R.I.T. joins him on 'A Dream A Plan' a song of which there are no words to describe but the words they delivered over the soulful production.
Other cameos include T.I., Cyhi The Prince, Statik Selekta, Paxquiao, Rama, Translee, Quinton Miller and more. It's just a classic body of work.
He explains this album in one tweet:
This “It Was Unwritten” album is not for clout/radio. I did this 1 not only for myself & the people but for those who truly appreciate & miss that true 90s hip hop music. When a story was being told from the soul of an artist to as soon as you hear it you feel their pain. 💯— Sy Ari (@SyAriDaKid) January 23, 2020
