DaBaby was detained by Miami Police Department on Thursday just outside the Novotel Hotel. He was being questioned about a robbery but was charged with battery.
The police report states that a concert promoter was short $10k of the agreed $30k for a performance. It alleges that there was a "verbal altercation" before DaBady punched a second victim in the face. This is when his team supposedly took his credit card, iPhone 7 and $80. It also alleges that the victim was doused with apple juice.
There are reports of a video showing the robbery take place which will definitely hurt his case.
He's being held without bond due to a warrant out of Texas. Not a good way to start out the year.
Update: He has been released.
