With her Bachelors in Business Management she should be greeted as more just a pretty face and amazing body. She's a brand. A brand that carries weight in the pop industry and is regarded with much respect and poise.
She is here, she is happening and she is in control.
We've had the honor of sitting down with the Queen herself for a quick chat to get a little bit of insight on her ins and outs. Though we were a bit star struck at first, her humbleness brought a sense of comfort to us like a good ol plate of food from Granny's house.
ACMD: We are here with Ms. Jackson! We're super excited to be doing this. It's Legendary! Please greet the people and let them know who you are so we can get this tea....
TJ: My name is Tanay Jackson I’m a singer/song writer, model, actress, director, fashion designer, and business owner
ACMD: In your music and performances you make it seem so easy.
TJ: It’s easy for me because I’ve been doing it all my life. I finally got some recognition for my hard work. I didn’t have anyone to help me. No one believed in me, I believed in myself and made it happen. Now it’s a breeze.
ACMD: So let the fans know exactly what you contribute to the industry.
TJ: once again I’m a singer/song writer, model, actress, director, fashion designer, and business owner. I put all my talents in a bag and made it work for me. I’m truly an independent artist. I had no other choice since no one believed in me. The industry wants someone that knows how to do for themselves. So my contribution to the industry has pretty much been fulfilled.
ACMD: OK! Soooooooo tell us what it's like being a part of a legendary legacy and family...
TJ: They have severe issues and I’m better off by myself like I’ve been doing from the start. Since this interview is about me I’d like to reestablish that I’m able to do as much as I’m doing also because I’m self-sufficient and building my own legacy.
ACMD: Tell us a bit about "Addicted".
TJ: that was the biggest hit I’ve had within all the songs I’ve recorded. It went everywhere and hit the charts at #2 for 2 months. The video went viral and I was very proud. It was a lot of hard work and dedication. My production team was great and everything turned out great in the end. You can find the video on Youtube or my website.
ACMD: So your father, Mr. Tito Jackson, how much of an influence did/does he have on your music?
TJ: None at all. I’m a pop artist and he’s a blues artist. He has no involvement in my career and I like it that way.
ACMD: What are you working on currently? The fans are always hungry for more. Any albums, tours etc.?
TJ: I’m working on some new material but everything else is a surprise. I love to surprise my fans with all the goodies and I try to present it as a beautiful gift to them.
ACMD: OMG we are so looking forward to that! Do you have any advice for the younger fans who'd like to do what you do?
TJ: Practice makes perfect and believe in yourself. BE TANAYCIOUS!!!!! LOL
ACMD: Let's switch lanes. Right now we are in trying times in our nation. How do you feel about the current affairs of our country with all that that dude Trump is doin?
TJ: HUH!! Well, I’ve never seen any president of any country behave or speak like he does. It’s almost like having a gangster rapper in the oval office. The two just don’t mix. It’s hard to be a president or a leader of something if your people don’t obey or respect you. I don’t know what the future of this country will be but it doesn’t look good. Life as we know it won’t be the same again. That I know.
ACMD: What are the pros and cons to the way the music industry has gone digital in your opinion?
TJ: It gives people a chance to get seen and be independent but it also has allowed people that are not entertainers to be famous which is not cool in my opinion.
ACMD: We don't like to pry but I know some handsome gentlemen would like to know your relationship status. Are you open to reveal?
TJ: I’m single right now. I secretly got married after high school behind my parents back but that’s over with. Maybe one day some handsome guy will put a ring on my finger.
ACMD: If you don't mind my asking, how was your relationship with your uncle the great Michael Jackson?
TJ: He was very nice to me. I let me be at the production of the video “Remember the Time.” He always told me I was talented and that I shouldn’t be shy to be in the front.
ACMD: Is there anything you want to add that we haven't discussed? The floor is open to the Queen..
TJ: I just want the fans to support me in a very positive way. I’m a kind person and I appreciate every positive thing my fans do for me.
